I will never forget where I was when I heard that Michael Jackson died. I was driving to my grandparents' house to pick beans from their garden. In disbelief, I called my best friend Heather, to confirm this terrible news for me. She did.

Think what you will, but this man was a phenomenon. I believe that he was a genuine man who loved the human race. If you feel the need to make a snide, hateful comment, save it, I don't want to hear it. I, along with the compassionate members of the world, will remember him for the incredible man that he was. Memories of Michael Jackson are imbedded throughout my childhood. I will remember all of his music, his incredible dancing, and his giving heart. My children will know his work as something of legend, which, I believe, will never be duplicated.

If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with. ~Michael Jackson
