What is it about 5 that makes this birthday milestone so much more special? I guess it's just that he is growing up so fast. Didn't we just welcome him home as the first grandchild, first great grandchild, first nephew? Weren't we just chasing his toddling little body around? Didn't we just read him his first favorite books? It seems like every day he does something else to prove his independence! Now he's a Big Brother and cousin. He can run and kick a ball like a pro. He can read words in that favorite book and write letters to his best friend. Ryan and I know what a blessing Will has been in our lives, and we are reminded of it multiple times a day. Sometimes it's one of his insightful questions, "Mom, when we're flying in the airplane, can Jesus get on a cloud and drive by and wave at us?" Other times, it's just him asking to sit and cuddle with us. We love to learn his "loves" like all things superhero, music, sports, fishing, drawing, and tons more!
We are just so proud to be the parents of this sweet boy. I can only imagine what the next 5 years will be like. We will soak up every moment of every day until then.
